It is almost never the money that stops a project. It is the timing of the money. The floor costs what it costs — but writing one big check in one particular month is what kills it, year after year. That is the exact problem this solves.

How it works

1. Apply online or in store

Use the buttons above, scan the QR code at our counter, or fill out a short application while you are here. You get an instant decision, and prequalifying does not affect your credit score.

2. Buy your material

Flooring, cedar fence pickets, composite decking, moulding, shiplap, siding, tools and supplies — at wholesale pricing, in stock, today.

3. Make your monthly payments

Minimum monthly payments are required and start right away. Pay the promotional balance in full within the promotional period and you pay no interest on it.

How deferred interest promotional financing actually works

Here is the part we would want a friend to tell us, so we are telling you. This is deferred interest promotional financing, and there are five things worth understanding before you sign anything:

  • Interest starts adding up from the purchase date — it is deferred to the end of the promotional period, not erased.
  • Deferred interest does not mean deferred payments. Minimum monthly payments are required and they start right away.
  • The minimum monthly payment on your statement will typically NOT pay off the full purchase within the promotional period.
  • You can choose to pay more each month to pay the balance off within the promotional period and avoid paying interest.
  • If the purchase is not paid in full by the end of the promotional period, all the interest that has accrued from the purchase date is added to your balance.

That is not a gotcha. It is how this product works at every retailer that offers it. And it costs you nothing in interest if you do one thing:

Take your total, divide it by the number of months in your promotional period, and pay that number every month — not the statement minimum.

Buy $4,800 of flooring on a 12-month promotion? Pay $400 a month. Set the autopay the day you get home. Twelve payments later you are done, you paid exactly what the floor cost, and you had the floor for all twelve of those months instead of none of them.

The suggested minimum payment is usually lower than that number. That gap is the whole trap. Use your own math.

Synchrony explains it in their own words here: mysynchrony.com/deferred-interest. Read it before you apply — we would rather you understand it than be surprised by it.

What you can put on it

Everything we sell:

  • Flooring — engineered hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, and carpet by special order from Shaw, Mohawk, Anderson Tuftex, COREtec, Stanton and Engineered Floors
  • Wood fencing — cedar pickets including pre-stained, pressure-treated pine, posts and rails
  • Composite decking and fasteners
  • Moulding, shiplap and siding
  • Tools and jobsite supplies — underlayment, trim, transitions and finishes

Why this changes the math — for everyone

Homeowners

Get the project done on this year's schedule instead of next year's. You are not spending more — you are spreading the same amount across a year instead of one month, which is usually the whole difference between doing it and putting it off again.

Contractors

Material is due at purchase. Your draw is due after the phase completes. Financing moves that gap off your operating cash, so you can take the second job instead of turning it down.

Investors and flippers

Leverage against a short hold. Finance material through the renovation, pay it off at closing, and keep your cash reserve liquid so you can make an offer on the next property while this one is still listed.

Buying material and hiring your own labor

THE BOSS does not install. We sell the material — which means we have no stake in who does the work, and we can tell you the truth about it.

On a typical flooring or fencing job, material is roughly 40 to 60 percent of a turnkey quote, and contractor-supplied material commonly carries a 20 to 40 percent markup. You are allowed to buy your own material and hire a contractor for labor only, and most good crews in DFW will quote it that way if you ask. Finance the material, pay labor separately, and you see exactly what each half costs.

One caution, because we would rather you hear it here: if you supply the material, you own the material. So get the number right the first time.

Always have the person doing the actual install give you the measurements. Not a rough figure off a floor plan, and not your own tape measure — the installer. This matters most on carpet, where roll width and seam placement change how much you actually need, and a guess can cost you a whole extra roll. It takes one phone call, and it is the difference between ordering once and ordering twice.

Then order the overage on top of that — about 10 percent for a straight-lay floor, 15 percent for diagonal or lots of cuts, and always extra fence pickets. Bring us the installer’s numbers and we will help you figure the count. We do it all day.

Frequently asked questions

Is this 0% financing?

It is promotional financing with no interest if the purchase is paid in full within the promotional period. That qualifier matters, so we will not shorten it: this is deferred interest financing, which means interest accrues from the purchase date and is only waived if you pay the promotional balance off in full within the promotional window. Pay it off in time and you pay no interest at all.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Checking whether you prequalify does not affect your credit score. You get a decision in seconds, and only a completed application results in a hard inquiry.

Do I have to make payments during the promotional period?

Yes. Minimum monthly payments are required and start right away — deferred interest does not mean deferred payments. Note that the minimum payment shown on your statement will typically not pay the purchase off within the promotional period, so pay more than the minimum if you want to avoid interest.

Can I use it the same day I apply?

Yes. If you are approved you receive a temporary account number you can use to shop with us right away — no waiting for a card in the mail.

Can contractors and businesses use it too?

Yes. Homeowners, contractors, remodelers, builders and real estate investors all buy here at wholesale pricing, and financing is available with approved credit.

Does THE BOSS install flooring or fencing?

No. THE BOSS is a supplier, not an installer. We sell first-quality material at wholesale pricing and help you choose the right product — which is also why our guidance stays buyer-first.
